Office Humor

I am a Coke Zero Addict.

There.  I’ve said it.

I drink Coke Zero every morning… it is like my coffee.  Here at the office, it is a pain to “get” a Coke Zero.  So, I bring them from home.  To be efficient in the process, it is definitely easier to bring a 12 pk in and “drink as you go.”  But, in February, we were forced to relocate from our private floor to a newly remodeled floor.  And in the process, we lost out “private” frig.  So, I have resorted to bringing 2 per day with me.  I didn’t want to leave my precious Coke Zero in the “public” frig.  I mean, we went from a floor with 15 people to one with 80.  I didn’t want anyone “borrowing” my cokes!

This morning, I went into the coffee bar and spied this:

I love a good capitalist.  I am so glad that someone took the initiative to do this.  So, now I know that when I forget my cokes at home, I don’t have to take the elevator 8 floors to get one…if they aren’t sold out.

So, Coke Zero Club President, I salute you!

Signed,

A Fellow Addict

Firetrucks!

By accident, I remembered that the Grand Opening of our new Fire Station was today.  It wasn’t exactly an accident but about 37 road signs blinking with the message “Reminder! Grand Opening of Firestation Today! 10a-1P!” That did the trick.

Perfect…  We needed to waste a little bit of time before nap time.  Both of the little kids (or as Chad abbreviates, LKs) have birthday parties this afternoon and needed to be tired out so they would take a slightly early nap.

There were firetrucks, ambulances, a helicopter, a demonstration (including lots of smoke), hot dogs, pizza, cookies, fire hats, badges, and the big attraction, Coke.  Cutter was just dying for a coke strait from the can.

Here are some shots of the LKs touring the firetrucks.

It never fails…

Whenever pictures are scheduled, it is a certainty that one of the subjects will sustain a facial injury that will forever be commemorated in print.

Kenzie has not 1 but 3 mosquito bites on her cheek.

How precious.

I am sure we can “edit” them out. But now I have to keep her from scratching them until after 3pm on Friday. Ugggh!

When “Ta-Toes” (aka Cheetos) Burn

***WARNING*** PIC HEAVY POST

Because I’m nostalgic…

Because I’m trying to stay awake…

And because I have a zillion pictures that I haven’t tagged or otherwise organized, I have been scrolling through them.  For fun.  I have yet to “organize” a darn thing.

It seemed like a good idea…

And I came across these pictures.  I took them at the end of Cutter’s Birthday Party.  When ALMOST everyone had gone home.  My husband thought it was time to “burn” all the wood we have left.  (You know – wood has an expiration date.  I find it funny that milk can be kept up until and sometimes after its date, but a pile of wood must be completely burned with any fire started.  It must have something to do with the pyromaniac chromasome present in men)  But burning just the wood wasn’t enough.  All remaining cheese balls (not the cream cheese and regular cheese mixtures rolled in nuts cheese balls but the cheapo off-brand cheese puff like cheese balls that have ABSOLUTELY ZERO nutritional value cheese balls) were thrown on top of the fire as well.

And there was a hot and bright flash of fire.

“That was cool.”  Guess who said that?

“Let’s do that again.”  Again, guess who said that?

The Cheese Balls aka non food that we let 13 toddlers consume make a really cool flash fire.

And me, with my trusty camera, recorded a cheese ball going in to flames.  The camera was set on “BURST”.  Look closely and you will see the cheese ball in the lower right part of the fire.
